On recommendations from a friend, we went to the Green Light Forest - Furano Sheep Farm located in Fushing, Taoyuan County. Our friend said it was just a short drive from Taipei and it was a lot of fun but as it turns out; it was was a really long drive (almost 2 hours) and it wasn't much fun.
I love taking photos during our outings so you know it's bad when I didn't even bother taking out the camera and just took photos with my cell phone.
At first glance, the place looked like it has a lot of potential with its Euro style building and natural surroundings.
As soon as you walk into the premises, you will see this dirty run-down gift shop. Maybe they are going for the antique look?
We wanted to push the stroller for Olivia so I asked the attendant at the parking lot if the paths were nicely paved and not too slopy; he said yes. Well, guess what? The paths were very slopy and were filled with rocks for the most part. It was nearly impossible to push the stroller so I just ended up carrying it up and down the steep hills most of the time. The photo above shows the better part of one of the paths but it still had all these holes in it which also made it very difficult to push the stroller.
The main attraction of this place was supposed to be the sheep ranch. So having 5 really dirty sheep that smells really bad wondering around in a patch of grass makes it a sheep ranch?!
Well, it wasn't all bad. Since it was located in the mountains, it did have some really nice views.
Again, nice views and nothing else.
The main building is just a restaurant but really, don't bother with it. The food was pretty bad and fairly expensive.
Soon after arriving, we just wanted to go home. The place was really small and it had nothing to do. Definitely not worth the drive and time. It's just a huge tourist trap. Stay away!

your 5th and 6th photos speak volumes. typical of Taiwan, there is more than enough room to sit and look but nothing else to actually do. too bad you wasted your time. did you go back and confront your friend about it?
man, every time i waste my time going to a crappy place like this i think to myself i could easily be hanging at your rooftop downing a few sangsoms!
looking at their web site, all 5 sheep are pictured.
Was lamb on the menu at the restaurant?
You didn't mention all the lavender and the horrible purple outfits the people wear!
I can't disagree with anything you say, but when I went I wouldn't say I was disappointed -- I thought it was funny to see the Taiwan take on the idea of a quaint English village, or whatever it is they're going for.
canadian fan... they did have a small barn on the side with a few more sheep inside but it smelled so bad we didn't want to go anywhere near that
leslie... didn't see any lavender. there were a few paths we didn't even bother walking through. just wanted to get out of there asap!
